After 42 years I have to wonder if it is still there, and would like to ask if you could take a photo of it if you are ever in that part of town. No worries if you don't have the time or inclination, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask :). It was a single level home, kind of an older French villa type little house, with a concrete wall in front and a gate to the right. If you went through the gate and veered right, it would take you to the back courtyard with rooms along the right, and then another row of rooms in the back right to left. If it is still there maybe the address is not #5 anymore, not sure. If you are walking up Phan Chu Trinh towards the beach, it was just past the intersection of Nguyen Du St on the right. Most of it is the well worn tourist trail, which doesnt interest me that much...I like to get in amongst the "real" people, & experience life at a more leisurely pace,rather than being rushed from place to place like cattle.. I found your blog!!! Congratulations....you have nailed being able to introduce Vietnam in a simple, interesting, real way... After spending three days reading from the start to the end, I am now highly excited about my trip....exploring many of the little out of the way places, just taking it all as it comes, with little expectation...
