The only way to get passed the landslide was by 5 people lifting the bikes over the barrier and 2 or 3 people pushing / pulling the bike for 30 yards around the slide.
I just got back to Nha Trang Saturday after 6 days in Dalat. There was a landslide covering both sides of the road and over the safety barrier.
Several people had told us the road was blocked but since we were 10ks from the site decided to check it out as opposed to returning 2.5 hours drive back to Dalat.
One girl had been there from 10:30 am. We arrived at about 12 pm and had about 5 bikes in font of us on our side. I gave a hand with each bike lifting them over the barrier and moving them down to be taken across the makeshift path. There was a bike in front of us but no one near it so the guy in blue grabbed our bike and we lifted it back on to the road drove it down to the barrier close to the slide and lifted it back over and 3 of us dragged it over the path. About half way across we stopped and helped the bus passengers and their luggage get around us. When we got to the other end we lifted the bikes over the barrier and the guy in blue was saying ok you go now. Stayed a bit longer and helped another couple of bikes and had a chat. I probably spent an hour in total got a bit muddy but actually had a great time. It was great seeing a bunch of strangers helping each other out.
There were several Bikes that had turned around and gone back to Dalat, I am glad we did not.
A nice point was that my girlfriend had bought a load of clothes in Dalat so we had paid for the large bag to be bused back to Nha Trang. While helping with the motorbikes she noticed someone carrying our bag across.
Don’t know if it is open yet.
A bus at either side allowed moving the passengers and bags to the other side and just swapping buses.
